Fahrenheit 451 – Ray Bradbury

Nowadays firemen start fires.

Fireman Guy Montag loves to rush to a fire and watch books burn up.

Then he met a seventeen-year old girl who told him of a past when people were not afraid, and a professor who told him of a future where people could think.

And Guy Montag knew what he had to do….

This is a classic. I enjoyed it when I first read it in high school, but if you don’t particularly enjoy sci-fi, you might hate this book. It’s exciting, but talks about the themes of censorship and the lack of love people now have for reading. Try this if you like dystopian books (meaning, the world is coming to an end). – Jessica, Teen Librarian
